I started in SEO back in 2004 with one of the first hotel internet marketing companies called Hoteltravelcheck.com. Back then SEO was eazy peazy - pop in some keywords in the meta tags and bam! You were typically ranking within days. I was the account manager and managed over 60 hotel clients. After about 4 years I asked for a raise and was told I was a stay-at-home mom and should be happy with my paycheck. That is when SEO is Local was born. A few years later Hotel Travel Check went bankrupt. SEO is Local has continued to thrive. I took several of the hotel accounts with me and 6 of them are still clients. I am proud to say 8 additional clients have been with me for over 5 years. My agency offers Website Design, SEO, Content Creation, and Social Media Posting.

Before signing on a new client I conduct a thorough audit to see where they are performing well and where there are gaps. I like to use Bright Local for this general overview. I find that a video to review and explain what the report means is very helpful for potential clients. They appreciate the data, numbers, and explanations. From this report, I can usually tell if I need to dig deeper to find issues. For this, I will use tools like the schema validator, SEM Rush, and Screaming Frog. Once I have a good idea of what the issues are, we can put together an action plan.

Because of my husband's job, I have recently moved to Waco, TX. It has been a good move since I am closer to family in Austin and Houston. Luckily my job has afforded me the flexibility to continue my business from anywhere and although it started in College Station, TX back in 2011 it has migrated to Florida, Arkansas, and back to Texas over the years. With my kids off on their own, I find myself with more time on my hands and am looking to supplement my current client base with additional accounts and Gyde presented itself as a great opportunity to achieve that goal.
